Got bit by the cigar bug earlier this year and have been enjoying the hell out of it ever since.

I'm a busy guy who didn't know how to sit for an entire hour doing nothing until I joined the BOTL. Although I'm on the border of Baby Boomer and Gen X, I seem to have inherited my grandparents' depression-era work ethic. I tend to be a "human doing" instead of a "human being." If I don't have 3 or 4 projects going at the same time, I get bored. I had to learn the hard way that the best way I could f**k up a good cigar was to try to do something else while smoking it.

Since cigars found me, I've discovered how cool it is to watch the light change as the sun gets low in the sky. And I've discovered how cool it is to just be in the freaking moment rather than always focusing on the next task.

I usually smoke alone, on my country porch. But I've recently discovered some friendly faces at our local cigar store/lounge. We are a pretty eclectic bunch of knuckleheads. I like this.

I keep a journal and know what I've liked so far. I'm on my third humidor with my converted wineador. I'm looking forward to continuing to discover more smoky amazingness as I explore more.

I look forward to building trade cred as I learn from the vets and lose my Noob smell.

Perhaps. And some good trades under my belt. I currently have 263 sticks in my humidor: 83 diffs, with a stockpile of faves ID'd so far.

Welcome to the asylum NWStogie. Your spelling, grammar, punctuation and sentence structure exceeds our standards for noobs...so GTFO...(until MACS gives his seal of approval...)

I was wondering wtf a camping trip was. Did a text search of forum posts and found no references to an alternate definition. Probs didn't go back far enough. Will pm ZRX, thx.

Waffles. Defs waffles. Especially made out of tater tots, cheese and bacon. I like to call 'em tot-waffles for obvious reasons.

Long walks on the beach? If there's a destination I'm trying to get to, cool stuff to pick up and look at or cool conversations to have with someone, awesome. Otherwise, I'd be bored out of my mind.

Thonganator sounds interesting...

Aloha from Hawaii! ThumpUp

Matt, good intro.

Question: do you imbibe in an adult beverage whilst you pondering the meaning of life on your country porch? If so, what's your choice?

Thx, Palama. Aloha, Brah. The only adult beverage in which I partake on my front porch is strong coffee. Preferably Kona. Preferably hand-ground, by me, just before brewing. No judgment on the more traditional adult beverages or their partakers. To each their own, I say.

Found thonganator. Might need therapy. Or some more cigar time on the front porch.

Probably both.

Thanks for playing nice with the Noob, vets.

Do you use beads?

Have you been to a Turkish prison?

Have you seen a grown man nude?

What's your opinion on toilet paper?

And.....Waffles are for commies so I assume you're north of Eugene.

Toilet paper? Are you implying he might be a wadder and not a wipe fold wipe fold type of guy?

1ply or 2ply? Not even a question.

Heartfelt. No experience with any others.

Not into gladiator movies. I picked the wrong day to stop sniffing glue.

"Stroft" was a commie plot to weaken our resolve from the bottom up.

Pancakes are OK. But only when waffles aren't on the menu.

Southern tip of Puget Sound. Home of the best oysters in the world.

Thx Kas, Spey, Aj & SM. CBid having the best opportunity to get good prices only means that I end up with more cigars. And because I'm an all or nothing type of guy, I'm on humidor #3 and currently have more on hand than I could smoke in a year. My wife used to scratch her head as to why I would have this much and still be looking for more. I think she understands a bit of it now.

I typically take time to research, read and pay attention before opening my yap or flinging a post. I don't like to reinvent wheels. I may be a CBid Noob, but I'm not a life Noob.

I do step on my own d*ck sometimes. (see earlier posts, "human dong" and size does matter.) But when I do, I try to a) Resolve what I may have f*cred up, and b) Learn from it so I don't repeat it.

There's lots to learn here. It's been fun lurking prior to this intro. I'm buckled up and ready for the ride to start.

Grew up in Auburn, hard to argue with that. Although, IMHO, there are only two kinds of oysters...good and better!
